If you have a 3D printer at home, you already know how fun it can be to create different shapes with it. If you are thinking about buying a printer that will allow you to print something in 3D, you might be wondering if you will be able to create some useful objects.

It’s possible to design your own 3D objects, but if that sounds too complicated for you, rest assured that you can find plenty of 3D print designs online. If you are in need of some inspiration, here are some of the most useful 3D printed objects people can create at home.

1. Phone holder

If you don’t already have a phone holder, you can use your 3D printer to design and print out your own. It could even serve as an amplifier, to make it easier for you to listen to your music playlists while you are busy.

2. Earbud case

If you prefer listening to your music with earbuds, don’t let them get all tangled up in your pockets when you are not using them. There are different models of earbud cases you can print out, and they will keep your earbuds’ wires neatly rolled up.

3. Battery adapter

If you never seem to have the right type of battery at home, you should consider printing out a few battery adapters. These clever devices can save the day by turning AAA batteries into AA batteries, or AA batteries into C batteries, for example.

4. Wrist support

If you spend a lot of time in front of your computer, using your mouse and your keyboard, maybe you could use a wrist support. With the power of 3D printing, you can create your own customized, comfortable and good-looking wrist support.

5. Bracelet stand

Do you have a favourite bracelet that you wear every single day? What do you do with it when you take it off before going to bed? Printing out your own stylish bracelet stand could be a good solution. Of course, you can also create a watch stand.

6. Bottle opener

Opening bottles is not always as easy as it sounds. Instead of buying a bottle opener to simplify this task, you can print one out using your 3D printer. The best thing about it is that if ever you lose it, you can just print out a new one.

7. Bag clip

We can never have enough bag clips to close and seal our bags of potato chips and other delicious snacks. Most designs of bag clips are a bit boring, but the really cool ones can be expensive. Fortunately, it’s possible to print out your own bag clips.

8. Vegetable slicer

If you are not very good at slicing vegetables, you can, you guessed it, print out a useful vegetable slicer that will help you accomplish this dreadful task. Some models of vegetable slicers can even double as a colander to rinse your sliced veggies.

9. Strawberry stem remover

A strawberry stem remover is another example of a tool that is useful to have in a kitchen, but unless we need one to remove the stems of a bunch of strawberries, we don’t think of buying one. Instead, let’s just print one when we need it.

10. Can handle

You don’t need a handle to drink from a can of soda or beer, but printing out a can handle that snaps on a can will make things more fun. If you have a few friends around, you can print out different colours of can handles to help you identify your drinks.

11. Tool to open plastic containers

If you are suffering from arthritis, or if you know someone who has a limited use of their hands, you can print out a clever tool designed to open plastic food containers more easily. Even if you don’t have any issue with your hands, this tool could be useful.

12. Trash bag hooks

If you don’t have some sort of a garbage can or garbage bag for your car, you can simply use a plastic bag, and print out some trash bag hooks. You can snap them onto the uprights of your seat’s headrest, and use them to hang a plastic bag.

13. Wall hook

There are many types of wall hooks available in stores, but perhaps they don’t fit your decor, or maybe they are not the right size for your needs. With your 3D printer, you can print out any design of wall hook, in the colour of your choice.

14. Carabiner

Finally, you can also use your 3D printer to create your own customized carabiner. If they are designed right, they can be as strong and durable as the ones you could buy in a store, and you will be able to hang different things on your backpack.
